1tea bagchai tea (or 1 tablespoon of loose chai blend)
1tablespoonmaple syrup (optional)
1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
1/4teaspoonground ginger
1/4teaspoonground nutmeg
1/4teaspoonground cloves
to tastewhipped cream or coconut cream for topping (optional)
as neededfresh apple slices and a cinnamon stick for garnish
Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine the diced apple, almond milk, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir occasionally until the mixture begins to simmer gently.
Once it reaches a simmer, reduce the heat slightly, allowing it to cook for an additional 5-7 minutes to soften the apples and infuse the milk with warm spices.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the chai tea bag. Allow it to steep for 5 minutes to infuse the milk with the aromatic flavors of chai.
After steeping, carefully discard the tea bag. Using an immersion blender, blend the mixture until smooth and creamy. If using a countertop blender, let it cool slightly before blending to avoid splatter.
Return the blended mixture to the saucepan and stir in the maple syrup (if using) to add sweetness. Gently reheat on low heat, ensuring it stays warm but does not boil.
Carefully pour the creamy spiced apple chai latte into mugs, optionally topping each with whipped cream or coconut cream for added richness.
Garnish each mug with fresh apple slices and a cinnamon stick for an enticing presentation.
Notes
Adjust the sweetness with maple syrup to your taste.
